Each year we begin with hope and enthusiasm. Very few of us take that energy till the last week of the year. I wish I was one such example during the year. I had begun the year with a great note. Carried the energy of the book launching event, I was on ‘high’ for first few weeks and the momentum did not last long enough.
Most professionals does the year end self-reviews. I encourage readers to do the same. It aids in bettering all areas of life ('wheel of life') in the year that follows. What can be measured can be improved. And all professionals were once amateur.
Here is my journey in pluses, minuses and lessons; a subset as a personal note with unnecessary details omitted.
The Pluses
Learnt working without bothering on results, as long as direction is right. Course correction is essential when results are inconsistent.
Learnt taking absolute responsibility, even if my mistake is 1%. Taken decision on real estate no buy at last hour.
Achieved higher clarity on entrepreneurship vision, though with no major path breaking results.
Physical paperback C2C with Indian popular A5 size launched in Amazon.in & in Sapna books.
I had put efforts in understanding what is that I need going forward. The technical mid-life crisis. I evaluated the pros and cons, going at least 5 steps ahead in each of the direction I thought out.
Concluded it with giving up many things for the things I felt would give me lasting happiness.
It’s an uphill effort with confusions, uncertainties, plus differences in views of others. Pressures make diamond. Once you do it right, you would know the game was worth.
Getting rid of unnecessary is essential, both in mind and in physical. Make it a weekly routine.
Got repairing of houses done. Imposed rules for tenants. It gave satisfaction at the end, not during the course.
Knowledge gain with business plan creation, implementing the POC, getting confident on presenting the case to investors, refining the road map etc., were satisfactory.
Started writing an article on the village development, after witnessing an example, on the dedication of what a solopreneur giving it an enterprise structure, a game changing experience.
Completed two advance weekend courses from ICAS on Vedic Wisdom.

The Minuses

Difficulty in finding the role at office with location flexibility.
I noted, we become our conversations, by what we are surrounded with, subconsciously. Technically worded ‘Emotional Contagion’. Uncertainties in the externals, made me realize I am susceptible to it.
Physical exercises, walks were inconsistent. Performed only about 50% versus the plan.
Fallen sick with tablets thrice in the year. Much stress on mind or body, will aid to diminish immunity.
I had taken my health granted, with moderate control on diet. Which proved detrimental with high sugar levels when identified. Made course corrections immediate with millet diet.
Had been carrying unnecessary weight in my body (mind!). Lesser the weight higher the energy.
All India C2C paperback roll-out, still due.
Progress on home – office set up, remained poor.
Booked Stock market losses 2K USD. Once bitten twice shy, back now with more learning on the self. -
Family heritage project, still in mind with a vague shape.
The Lessons
Non-interference to nature plan. Anyone capable to do so, to a certain extent exerting the individual will. Nature will tolerate so, because of the love towards individuals; it also expects us to elevate our conscious by detachment.
Resistances come with strong lessons from the very direction one sought out to put in individual interest.
When things are not moving in a direction pursued, don’t make more efforts. It will become futile.
Put your best in the direction you seek out, at the end leave the results as per nature plan. It can create unexpected game changing events.
Entrepreneurship should be around the leader‘s clear vision, and rest of the team support that idea along with their interest in being part of it. Otherwise team has to be improved.
Team who is not clear but only wish to be a part of it, because it sounds exciting, will lose their interest sooner and their self-interests may take over, which will prove detrimental to the vision and can influence negatively other team members.
However good it appears outside, it has pains beyond the scenes. I am talking about entrepreneurship.
Delays, ignoring the ‘musts’ will cost more when it actually needs to be addressed inevitably.
Individuals need a compelling schedule to adhere. Having no concrete ideas to work upon, one becomes indiscipline, taking no advantage of the day passing.
Don’t do anything with half involvement, it will lead to no or disappointing results anyway.
I understood most entrepreneurs look for massive profits, otherwise they don’t take up the project.

I am closing the year book 2018.
